We periodically have medical students in the surgery. They are with us to learn as much as possible and sitting in on consultations is essential to their education. You will always be told if they are to sit in on your consultation and you will be given the option of the students withdrawing if you would rather see the doctor in private.
The students are bound by the NHS confidentiality clauses.
